Adele was diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) at age two. Doctors, hospitals, medication and joint pain have all been a big part of her life. But at age nine, she added something else to the list: Camp!
“I never knew how much one place could change my life," Adele says. "Everyone there understands my disease."
For six years now, Adele has been attending Cincinnati Children's Camp Wekandu at Camp Joy for kids just like her with pediatric rheumatic diseases.
"Words can’t describe how much Camp Joy has helped me deal with my disease, create new friendships and have amazing experiences," she says. "Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to have a place to be myself."
